Who we are
Our mission is simple: to make disciples of Jesus. We believe that following Jesus changes lives, so everything we do is about helping people grow in their relationship with Him.
Our vision is how that takes shape:
Connect with God: We want people to build a real, everyday relationship with God through worship, prayer, and time in His Word.
Connect with people: Church should feel like community. We’re building a place where people are known, supported, and can grow together.
Connect people with their God-given purpose: Everyone has a purpose. We help people discover their gifts and use them to serve others and make a difference.
At the end of the day, it’s about helping people follow Jesus, find community, and live out what God has called them to do.

We believe you can’t outgive God. We steward our time, finances, and resources faithfully, living with open hands and investing generously in what God is doing in our lives, our church, and our community.
We Believe
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, the final authority for faith and life.
We believe God eternally exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sin and rose from the dead, and is coming back again.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin and empowers believers for service. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues and in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit which enables a believer to live a holy life.
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that through disobedience (sin) was separated from God.
We believe that the only remedy for man’s sin is to receive, through faith, forgiveness provided through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that God does hear and answer prayer, and in His ability to heal.
We believe that the church consists of true followers of Jesus Christ. We recognize the believer’s baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper (communion) as scriptural means of testimony for the church.
Our Team
Lead / Pastor Pedro and Rute Pires
In 1999, pastors Pedro and Rute moved to Canada to lead a local ethnic church. In 2004, following God's call, Pastor Pedro established a church in Benguela, Angola, now overseeing over 30 churches there. After a few years in Canada, he felt led to start an English-speaking congregation, resulting in the founding of Connect Church in Northeast Edmonton in 2014. They are dedicated to helping people know God and fulfill their divine purpose.
